Dr. Fridley has lived in Southern California most of his life.
He attended U.C.L.A, Pepperdine College and University of Southern
California (USC). He has been in professional practice at the
South Bay Psychological Center since it was founded in 1964. He
and his wife Beverly have taught psychology at various local colleges
in the area and raised their four children, two dogs, and two
cats.
Dr. Fridley has had extensive experience and training in the treatment
of families, children and adolescents as well as intensive individual
and group psychotherapy. He is trained in many different forms
of psychotherapy such as hypnosis, EMDR, Behavior Therapies, Sex
Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and psychoanalytic/psychodynamic approaches
to therapy. He is committed to an integrated and humanistic approach
in providing services to the community.
Dr. Fridley is actively seeing patients at the South Bay Psychological
Center and is a consultant at the Del Amo Hospital. He is sought
out for his expertise in the field of dissociation and is known
as the Therapist’s Therapist. He teaches courses in the
treatment of dissociative disorders for the International Society
for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) throughout the
year. He provides supervision and consultation to other professionals
in the local area as well as across the country. more

Lee, PhD

Dr. Lee immigrated with her family to the U.S. from South Korea.
She grew up in Rochester, New York and attended college in Massachusetts
at Boston University (B.U.). She received two degrees from B.U.:
a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a masters degree in
psychology. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. as well as a theological
degree (a masters degree in Christian Leadership). She lives with
her husband and 2 dogs in the South Bay area.
Dr. Lee has been a member of the following associations: American
Psychological Association, Association of Behavior and Cognitive
Therapy (ABCT), Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC), Association
for Anxiety Disorders of America (AADA), and Obsessive Compulsive
Foundation (OCF).
Dr. Lee has receivedl training at
Harbor UCLA, CBT Adult Outpatient Clinic as well as at UCLA’s
Anxiety Disorders Clinic. She has extensive experience with Cognitive
Behavioral Treatment for anxiety and mood disorders, especially
OCD and OCD spectrum disorders such as Body Dysmorphic Disorder
, Trichotillomania, Skin Picking and Hoarding. She emphasizes
Mindfulness Training as well as Exposure and Response Prevention
(ERP) for overcoming anxiety disorders. In addition, Habit Reversal
Training is utilized for Body Focused Repetitive Disorders. Furthermore,
she is a pioneer in the collaborative treatment model for Hoarders,
working together with psychiatrists, professional organizers and
family members. Finally, she offers consultation sessions for
family members of Hoarders.
She has extensive experience working in community and hospital
settings. She currently sees patients in private practice at 2
office locations in Southern California (Torrance and Newport
Beach, CA).
Liana Georgoulis,
PsyD

Dr. Liana Georgoulis received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology
from UCLA in 2001. She received both her Master’s and Doctoral
Degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. Her clinical
internship was completed at Kaiser Permanente- Department of Psychiatry
and Addiction Medicine in San Diego. There she received comprehensive
generalist training for a wide range of psychiatric disorders,
as well as specialty training in the area of addiction. Her clinical
training has consisted of both group and individual cognitive-behavioral
treatment approaches including Mindfulness Training, Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy
(DBT). Dr. Georgoulis has also received training in psychological
assessment at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Human Behavior
where she worked with patients suffering from dementia, traumatic
brain injuries, and various psychiatric disorders. She has also
worked with underserved homeless populations in Downtown Los Angeles
and foster children in South Central Los Angeles. Her dissertation
research involved gender and addiction and examined the relationship
between trauma and relapse. Clinically, Dr. Georgoulis has interests
in treating a variety of disorders and in working with individuals,
couples, families, and groups. She specializes in the treatment
of anxiety disorders, emotion regulation, substance abuse disorders,
adult Asperger Syndrome, women’s health issues, and psychological
assessment. She strongly believes in the importance of utilizing
therapeutic interventions that have proven to be effective, and
also places great importance on building a strong therapeutic
relationship with her clients. Dr. Liana Georgoulis was raised
and lives in the South Bay. In her spare time she works with animal
rescue groups and is actively involved in various environmental
issues. |
